Resumo A grande procura por estética tem levado ao desenvolvimento de aparelhos ortodônticos cada vez mais discretos. Por isso, os tratamentos com alinhadores ortodônticos têm se tornado uma realidade na clinica diária e o entendimento de sua biomecânica e principalmente dos recursos para obtenção dos resultados almejados é de fundamental importância. Diante disso, este trabalho tem como objetivo demonstrar como a ativação dos alinhadores através dos alicates ortodônticos pode ser realizada de forma a ajudar no complemento da movimentação, principalmente quando somente a força exercida pelos alinhadores não é suficiente para a completa movimentação dentária desejada (AU)

Abstract The great demand for aesthetics has led to the development of increasingly discreet orthodontic appliances. For this reason, treatments with orthodontic aligners have become a reality in daily practice and the understanding of their biomechanics and especially the resources to obtain the desired results is of fundamental importance. Therefore, this work aims to demonstrate how the activation of the aligners through orthodontic pliers can be performed in order to help complement the movement, especially when only a force exerted by the aligners is not sufficient for the desired tooth movement (AU)

Tratamento da má oclusão de classe ii em adultos com braquetes autoligados e retração com mini-implantes extra-alveolares ­ relato de caso / Treatment of Class II malocclusion in adults with self-ligating brackets and retraction with extra-alveolar mini-implants ­ Case Report

O tratamento ortodôntico de pacientes adultos portadores de má oclusão dentaria de classe II de Angle, normalmente é realizado através de extrações ou até mesmo as cirurgias ortognáticas. A utilização de mini parafusos ortodônticos extra-alveolares tem possibilitado a correção da relação molar através da distalização de todo o arco de uma só vez e, quando usado concomitantemente com o aparelho autoligado, simplifica a técnica e reduz o tempo de tratamento, já que o atrito neste tipo de aparelho é menor, não há necessidade de extrações de pré molares e nem de mudança de posição dos mini parafusos, pois esses são inseridos paralelamente às raízes dos dentes. Baseando-se nisto, este trabalho teve como objetivo demonstrar esta forma de tratamento em 2 pacientes adultos onde a estética dental e facial, a relação de caninos e de molares em classe I e estabilidade oclusal foram obtidas somente com o movimento de distalizacao de todo o arco, sem que houvesse a necessidade de extrações ou cirurgia ortognática.(AU)

Based on this, this study aimed to demonstrate this form of treatment in 2 adult patients where the dental and facial aesthetics, the relationship of canines and molars in class I and occlusal stability were obtained only with the distal movement of the whole. arch without the need for extractions or orthognathic surgery.(AU)

Braquetes ortodônticos se fixam com resina composta sem o uso de sistemas adesivos? / Orthodontic brackets bond with composite resin without the use of adhesive systems?

Introdução e objetivo: esta revisão de literatura foi realizada utilizando-se das bases de dados Medline, LILACS, BBO e Scielono período de 2004 a 2013, sobre a fixação de braquetes ortodônticos com resina composta, com e sem o uso de sistemas adesivos. Conclusões: Concluiu-se que a fixação dos braquetes ortodônticos com o emprego do sistema adesivo é efetiva em campo operatório limpo e seco, bem como na ausência do sistema adesivo, que além de não causar danos à superfície do esmalte diminui os passos clínicos do atendimento ortodôntico. E na presença de umidade, a melhor opção é a resina composta hidrofílica.

Introduction and objective: this literature review was performed using the databases Medline, LILACS, BBO and Scielo in the period from 2004 to 2013, about the fixation of orthodontic brackets with composite resin, with and without the use of adhesive systems. Conclusions: It was concluded that the fixation of orthodontic brackets with the use of the adhesive system is effective in clean and dry operative field, as well as in the absence of the adhesive system, that besides not causing damages to the surface of the enamel reduces the clinical steps of the orthodontic care. And in the humidity presence, the best option is thehydrophilic composite resin.
